"Trauma Champions" are What We Call Trauma-Informed Care Individuals

  • Staff are burning out, behaviors are escalating, institutions are overwhelmed.

  • People are trying to solve trauma-related behaviors without understanding how it affects the body, brain, and relationships.

  • The result is more conflict. More exhaustion. More turnover. More disconnection.

  • Champions need real-world applications for schools, homes, organizations, and communities.

Trauma Champions get a "Toolbox" to Heal Trauma and Build Resilience

  • Learn practical trauma-informed strategies to support hurting children with greater confidence and compassion.

  • Strengthen families through connection, emotional safety, and resilience-building tools.

  • Better understand emotional dysregulation and how to respond without escalating conflict.

  • Help children and youth develop healthier coping skills, emotional regulation, and long-term resilience.

Trauma is already affecting our schools, workplaces, homes, churches, and communities every single day!

According to the National Child Traumatic Stress Network:

  • More than 2/3 of children reported at least 1 traumatic event by age 16.

  • The national average of child abuse and neglect victims in 2013 was 679,000 or 9.1 victims per 1000 children in the US.

  • Each year, the number of youth requiring hospital treatment for physical assaults would fill EVERY SEAT IN 9 STADIUMS.

  • 1 in 5 high school students is bullied at school and 1 in 6 experienced cyberbulling.

  • More than half of US families have been affected by some type of disaster. That is 54% of the population.

Not All Trauma Responses are Obvious

Trauma Champions Learn to Recognize What Others Often Miss

Preschool children may cry or scream a lot, eat poorly or lose weight, and have nightmares. Elementary school children can become extremely anxious and fearful, have a hard time concentrating, and have difficulty getting along with their peers or complain about their sleep. Middle and high school children may be depressed, isolate from others, develop eating disorders and engage in self-harm behaviors, experiment with drugs and alcohol, and become involved in risky sexual behaviors.

Discover the Truth of "ACEs"

Trauma doesn’t only affect behavior in the moment — it can shape long-term mental, emotional, relational, and physical health outcomes across a lifetime

I've learned so much, not just with my head but also with my heart. This course has reminded me to be more empathetic to everyone I meet. I'm so grateful for this experience because it empowers me to do things differently at work. As a program officer at an orphanage, I'll be incorporating trauma-informed care into our programs. Thank you so much!
